Agrupamento de Escolas de Vilela (AEV) | PORTUGAL

AEV comprehends different levels of learning. We are formed by two basic and secondary schools, Escola Básica e Secundária de Vilela and Escola Básica e Secundária de Rebordosa, two schools centers with the 1st cycle of education and 2 more small schools with kindergarten and 1st basic grade of education. Basic and secondary are compulsory. At the secondary level (High Education) we provide general and professional courses for youth learners such as ICT, Tourism, Photography, Sport management, Social Services among others.

It is located in a semirural area, approximately 30 km from Oporto. About 2.400 students attend our schools and the majority, 1.600 do so on a basic level. We have 357 kids on kindergaten. We also have around 200 teachers from all areas of expertise, 15 secretary assistants and 45 operational assistants.

The AEV competed and obtained the distinction of "Etwinning School" for the biennium 2018-2020. The obtained distinction certifies that we are pioneers and leaders in:

- Digital practices

- eSafety Practices

- Innovative and creative pedagogical approaches

- Promotion of continuing professional development of teachers

- Promotion of collaborative learning practices between teachers and students

This distinction comes in recognition of the individual work of teachers and students in European projects and the work developed at school level, evaluating the involvement, commitment and dedication not only of some dispersed eTwinners but of teams of teachers and leaders of this school. We have participated in a lot of European projects – so we are used to implement and manage activities and European projects, as well.
